Serving Size

Remember to think about the actual serving size that you have had. I was wondering this morning how much cereal I actually ate. I thought that maybe my bowl held 1 1/2 C. So I measured it and it actually held 3 cups. That definitely changed how many calories I had this morning!

Another rule of thumb. A serving size of meat, i.e. chicken, steak, hamburger, etc., is 4 oz. That is about the size of your palm. Take that into consideration when you have your meal. When we eat out those servings are usually bigger than 4 oz.
