August

August 2013 was pretty eventful actually.  Usually we have our reunions in July but this year both Gary's Mom's family and my dad's family reunion was in August.  It worked out for us since school didn't start until September.  But for some of my relatives, we missed out on seeing them because they started school.  I am already looking forward to my dad's reunion this year ... in Bear Lake ... in July!  Yay!!!  So enjoy these next (billion) bunch of pictures of our happenings in August!

Gary's Mom's reunion was at Lagoon this year.  Most of her family camped at the campground this year.  We stayed at a hotel in Salt Lake.  Two of my sister-in-laws were pregnant so we chose not to ride the rides or walk around Lagoon.  We went to the Dinosaur Museum in Ogden, The Hogle Zoo, and Chuck E Cheeses instead.  We also swam in the hotel swimming pool of course!!

The kids really enjoyed all of the different Dinosaur's.  There were some really cool ones inside and outside.  The kids think they are pretty scary here.  {wink}

They had fun at the pool each night!  It helped tire them out for bed too.  hehe

Gary and Doug drove down Saturday for the reunion and we drove home on Sunday.  We decided to drive back through Bear Lake and Paris, Idaho and show the kids/ tell the kids about Charles C Rich, my 3rd Great Grandfather.
Even though it was Sunday, we got to take a tour of the tabernacle that Charles C Rich helped build.  It was really neat!

We saw a "General Lee" in Firth.  We had to turn around so we could get a picture!!  Jake thought it was so cool!!
We bought an above ground swimming pool!  We had cousins over this day to play.   My kids were out there quite a bit on their own during the hot August we had.

Pickle and the Young Women from our Ward walked to the Idaho Falls Temple.  They walked 15 miles.  During August we would walk 3 or so nights a week for 3 miles with her friend and the Young Women President (which is her friend's mom).  We also walked 5 miles, then 7 miles, then 9 miles three Saturdays in a row.  I really enjoyed it.  I have pictures of them making it to the Temple in September.  I look silly in all of these pictures.  Who really needs to do their hair to exercise.  {wink}

Of course in August we cut our grain!

We had my Dad's family reunion in August.  My Uncle Gerald from Blackfoot was in charge this year.  We got to stay in Blackfoot!!  We ate lots of "nummy" food and played basketball.  We also had an auction with Gerald as the auctioneer.  Uncle Larry helped.  The video below shows some of the fun we had that day!

Pickle registered for 7th grade at the Middle School!!  Can you believe it??  I can't.  She is growing up on me.  I love her!

Gus at the Evans' Family August Birthday dinner!  He turned the big 5!  Gary, Braxton, and Little Dean also had their birthdays in August.

Out in the field.

A pretty sunset on one of our walks.

This was on his birthday!  We were sent to American Falls to pick up some parts for Gary.  Gus got a Leap Pad for his birthday and had fun playing it in the car ride down.
